By Air
There are direct flights to Yakushima Airport from Osaka, Fukuoka and Kagoshima. From Tokyo, change flights at Kagoshima. There are about five flights a day between Kagoshima and Yakushima and takes about 30 minutes .
By Sea
Yakushima Ferry 2 leaves Kagoshima South Wharf at 8:30 and arrives in Yakushima at 12:30.
There are about 5~6 Jetfoil Toppy and Rocket services from Kagoshima to Yakushima. It takes between 1h50min to 2h40min.
Ferry Hibiscus leaves Taniyama Port at 18:00 and arrives in Yakushima at 7:00 the next day stopping over at Tanegashima.
Ferry Taiyo services run between Tanegashima-Yakushima-Kuchinoerbaujima.
